New 2024 Audi R8 Spyder Specs, Price, Interior – The Audi R8 has lived around since 2006, but the 2024 Audi R8 Spyder has proven to be one of the numerous affordable and capable sports cars ever since its second generation was introduced. Aside from its aesthetic impact, the German supercar readily competes in terms of sound impact with well-established brands like Ferrari and McLaren.
There is a lot to like concerning this R8 Spyder, which has the same dynamic capabilities as a hardtop, but the top is off, and that excellent V10 makes all of its 602 horsepower audible. While the wheelbase is less than the M8’s, it’s longer than the 911 Turbos by 8 inches. Beyond that, there isn’t much of a difference between them. Each vehicle has its way of dealing with these differences in size and how it moves and handles.
Interior
Embracing simplicity has never felt so wealthy. An excellent cockpit with simple controls, such as the ignition button on the steering wheel, is all that’s missing. Audi’s instrument cluster also serves as an information screen, allowing the R8’s finely contoured sports seats and high-resolution digital gauge display to take center stage in the cockpit. Regarding interior colors and textures, Audi offers a wide range of options. Flat or quilted leather in black, gray, brown, and red is available with matching or contrast stitching. No one buys a supercar for its practicality in this market, and the R8 doesn’t defy the tradition by delivering actual cargo capacity. In our tests, it only had room for one carry-on suitcase. Keep your luggage to a minimum.
Audi’s previous models, the A4 and the TT have futuristic styling, and this one does as well. Both instruments and the MMI infotainment system are shown on the giant Virtual Cockpit gauge cluster. Voice instructions, steering-wheel buttons, or a click wheel on the center console may operate the vehicle’s high-resolution navigation system. CarPlay and Auto compatibility and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are standards.
Engine
Without a powerful engine, what is the point of owning a supercar? There’s nothing better than a naturally aspirated, 5.2-liter V10 from Lamborghini. This engine sounds great, but it also delivers impressive power and torque numbers: 562 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque are sent solely to the rear wheels in the standard configuration. These figures increase to 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet with the AWD Quattro Performance variant. Both vehicles have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to deliver power to the wheels. The R8 Spyder can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3.3 seconds, but the RWD version takes four-tenths longer to do the same thing. If you keep your foot on the gas, you’ll quickly see the needle closing in on 204 mph or 203 mph in RWD form.
You’ll never get excellent gas mileage no matter how hard you push the 5.2-liter V10 engine. You don’t deserve an R8 Spyder if this impacts your choice to buy one. If you’re a vigorous driver, the EPA estimates the Spyder will get 14/23/17 mpg city/highway/combined in RWD form, while the AWD Quattro variant will get 13/19/15. However, those figures will decrease quicker than the R8’s retractable hardtop. The R8 Spyder’s 21.9-gallon tank will give you a maximum range of 372 miles.

The 2018 Audi R8 Spyder is an exorbitantly priced mid-engined V10 supercar, even as a drop-top sports car.
