2024 Audi S8 Luxury Sedan Review, Cost – If you’re examining a full-size luxury sedan but find the Audi A8 too calm, the 2024 S8 turns up the heat with a 565-hp twin-turbo V-8 machine and a tautly adjusted suspension. Due to its superior handling, the S8 gives more driving pleasure than rivals such as the BMW 7-series and Maserati Quattroporte. The cabin is roomy and pleasant, with plenty of basic technology and luxury features, such as massaging chairs and enough screens to keep everyone engaged on lengthy rides. The S8’s design is purposefully simple for a high-performance car, so it doesn’t stand out too much, for better or worse.
Similar to the A8 upon which it is based, the S8 sedan receives a facelift to its exterior styling, including a revised front grille, updated front, and rear bumpers, redesigned exterior lighting, and new wheel designs. The interior receives a new rear-seat entertainment option and minor trim-level adjustments. A variety of driver-assistance systems are standard equipment.
2024 Audi S8 Redesign
The pre-production model’s images reveal a single-frame grille with a squared design, in contrast to the horizontal chrome slats on the current vehicle. The show and back bumpers have also been modified to keep them from looking modern. Most noticeable are the headlights, which are slightly reminiscent of those on the smaller A3. At the rear, the taillights have been updated with new graphics, and the bumper now features four exhaust tips.
Audi’s 2021 model year improvements are pretty minor, but this should be no surprise given that the 2020 Audi S8 is a total redesign of all preceding models. Audi will introduce standard 21-inch wheels with summer tires in 2021. In addition, heated front armrests are now common, joining the heated seats and steering wheel. The optional Black Optic package adds new 21-inch wheels in a fresh style.
Interior
Given that the sedan was already redesigned in 2020, there is unlikely to be a significant design revolution. The interior should remain unchanged, but the infotainment system and materials, trims, and personalization options may undergo revisions. The sedan has much better to offer than just a roomy interior. And in terms of cabin capacity, although passenger space is more than adequate, the S8’s trunk is more diminutive.
The S8 has every luxury option imaginable, including heated armrests, a heated steering wheel, and heated, vented, and massaging sports seats. The emphasis here is on comfort, especially for the back seats. One can also select a four-seat arrangement where the two seats feature luxury capabilities such as 22-way power adjustment and an optional foot massage function.
Engine
The only engine option for the S8 is a powerful one: a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine producing 563 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, as is an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition to fuel-saving measures like cylinder deactivation and a mild hybrid configuration with a tiny electric motor and battery, Audi claims a top speed of 155 mph. The S8 reached 60 miles per hour on our test track in 3.2 seconds. Active suspension can manage each tire independently to improve ride comfort, and it is calibrated differently from the conventional A8’s rest to eliminate body roll for enhanced cornering abilities. Audi gives you options like a torque-vectoring rear differential and rear-wheel steering to make your car more agile. You can also get carbon-ceramic brakes as an extra.
Even though the S8 is officially a hybrid, purchasers should not expect fuel economy comparable to that of the Toyota Prius. The EPA believes that we can achieve a maximum of 22 mpg on the interstate, with a rating of merely 13 mpg in the city. Ouch. 2024 Audi S8 Price and Release Date
The renowned Audi S8 for the 2024 model year should be released by the end of the year. This vehicle competes with the BMW M760i, Porsche Panamera GTS, and Maserati Quattroporte GTS, among others. The S8 can be purchased for $130,900, but there are other add-on packages available for a small premium that make the vehicle even more enjoyable to drive.
