2024 Audi S8 Redesign, Price, Specs – The 2024 S8 cranks up the heat with a 563-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine and a tautly tuned suspension if a full-size luxury sedan is what you’re looking for, but you find Audi’s A8 to be too calm. By big-sedan standards, the S8 handles well, providing more enjoyable driving than rivals like the BMW 7-series and the Maserati Quattroporte. The vehicle’s interior is roomy and comfy, and it has a ton of standard and premium amenities, such as optional massage seats and enough displays to keep everyone occupied on lengthy trips. For better or worse, the S8’s intentionally understated style makes it possible for it to stay relatively unnoticeable as a performance vehicle.
The S8 sedan, like the A8, is given an exterior aesthetic upgrade that includes a new front grille, front and rear bumpers, updated exterior lighting, and new wheel designs. Along with a few additional changes to the various trims, the inside offers a new option for rear-seat entertainment. Numerous driver-assistance elements are included as standard.
2024 Audi S8 Redesigned
Numerous images of the pre-production prototype reveal a radically formed single-frame grille; it has a squared design in contrast to the present car’s horizontal chrome slats. The front and rear bumpers have also been modified to keep them from appearing new. The headlights, which resemble those of the smaller A3, draw the most attention. The rear is hardly modified; the bumper now has four exhaust tips, and the taillights have new artwork.
The 2024 Audi improvements are pretty minor, although this is not surprising given that the 2024 Audi S8 was a complete redesign of everything that came before. Audi will install 21-inch wheels with summer tires as standard starting in 2024. To go along with the heated seats and steering wheel, heated front armrests are now included as standard equipment. The 21-inch wheels that come with the optional Black Optic package also have a new look.
Interior
Given that the sedan was redesigned in 2024, there shouldn’t be any significant design innovations. The interiors should mostly remain the same, although updates to the infotainment system, fabrics, trims, and other personalization possibilities are expected. The car offers much more than simply a roomy interior. The S8’s boot is smaller, even though the passenger capacity is more than enough.
The S8 comes equipped with every high-end amenity you can imagine, including heated armrests, a heated steering wheel, and heated, vented, and massaging sports seats. You can also choose a 4-seat arrangement, in which case the two centers will have luxury features like a 22-way power recline and a foot massager that you can choose to use or not. Here, comfort is critical, especially for those in the rear.
Engine
A twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine with 563 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque is the only available engine for the S8. The eight-speed automatic transmission is standard with all-wheel drive. Additionally, there are fuel-saving features like cylinder deactivation and a mild hybrid system with a tiny electric motor and battery. Audi boasts that the vehicle has a peak speed of 155 mph. The S8 accelerated to 60 mph on our test track in under 3.2 seconds. An active suspension system, adjusted differently from the standard A8s, can manage each wheel separately to enhance ride quality and promises enhanced cornering ability due to less body roll. Audi also has a torque-vectoring rear differential and rear-wheel steering to make the car more agile. Carbon-ceramic solid brakes are an option.
Although the S8 is a hybrid, in theory, purchasers shouldn’t anticipate fuel efficiency compared to the Toyota Prius. The EPA predicts that the most we can hope for are 22 mpg on the interstate, with just 13 mpg in the city. Ouch. The S8 hasn’t yet been put through its paces on our 75 mph highway fuel efficiency route, but we will update this article with the findings when we do. Visit the EPA website for more information about the S8’s fuel efficiency.
2024 Audi S8 Date and Cost
